Looking for Your Scandinavian Roots? Great! That’s exactly what I help people with!

Hey there!

I’m guessing you’re here because you’re curious about your Scandinavian heritage, and you’d like to research your Swedish, Danish, or Norwegian ancestors. Sound about right?

Well then! Let me be the first person to say Välkommen!

This blog was created to specifically to help you get access to all the amazing resources we have in Scandinavia. There’s so much to explore, but much of it is not yet available in the US and around the world, so the goal of this blog is to connect you with those lesser known resources to help you find your family!

I hope you will join my community, so you can get insider access to all the fun stuff, like the resource library and the workshops!

So Who Created this Little Slice of Nordic Bliss?

NAPO-79-WEBsmall

That would be me!

My name is Caroline Guntur (formerly Nilsson), and I am a Swedish Genealogist, Certified Photo Organizer, & Personal Historian.

I started researching my own family history in 1997 as a school project, and never looked back! In 1999, I moved to the US for college, and somehow ended up staying, so now I live just outside of Chicago where I run my business The Swedish Organizer, LLC full-time. On top of it all, I run two blogs: Searching Scandinavia (which you are visiting now), and OrganizingPhotos.net

My education includes a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Visual Communication from Hawaii Pacific University, a Master of Arts Degree in Arts, Entertainment & Media Management from Columbia, as well as an ESL certificate from Cambridge University.

I am a member of the National Association of Professional Organizers (NAPO), the Association of Personal Photo Organizers (APPO), the Association of Personal Historians (APH), as well as the Association of Professional Genealogists (APG), the National Genealogical Society (NGS), DIS-Sverige (the Computer Genealogy Society of Sweden), Ystadbygdens Släkt- & Bygdeforskarförening (The Genealogy Society of Ystad, Sweden), and Österlens Släk- och Folklivsforskarförening (the Genealogy Society of Österlen, Sweden).

If you’ll let me, I’d love to be your coach on the journey to finding your family!
